The Turtle Islands Park comprises a group of eight islands, which lay in the Sulu Sea. Green and hawksbill turtles come to the wide sandy beaches of these islands all year round to lay their eggs.
Overnight accommodation is available on Pulau Selingaan, and rangers will lead visitors to view the unique sight of the turtles climbing out of the surf at night.
Most of the islands have excellent beaches with rich coral life, making them an excellent venue for snorkelling and scuba diving. Pulau Gaya is the largest of the islands and is rich in flora and fauna, including hornbills, sea eagles, macaques, pangolin wild pigs and reptiles. |
